Carlyle House Historic Park

Located in Alexandria, Virginia, the Carlyle House Historic Park is rich in history and natural beauty. With a grand mansion in the background and lush green lawns, this park is a picture-perfect place to host a wedding lunch or dinner. The park offers ample outdoor space for wedding picnics, and you can admire the lavish gardens as you enjoy food and beverages. The park is open for outdoor wedding ceremonies between April 1st and October 31st every year. If you plan to have a wedding picnic here, you'll be able to rent the space for either two hours or the entire evening. In case of inclement weather, guests have the option of staying outside and dining under a tent at the Magnolia Terrace.

River Overlook Picnic Area

Part of the Three Rivers Park District, River Overlook is one of Minnesota's most incredible places to have a celebratory wedding reception. The picnic area is located right on the Minnesota River, and it is part of a park that covers nearly 90 acres. The facility is available for rentals between April and October. It can be rented for picnics anytime between 10:00 am and dusk. In case of rainy weather conditions, they offer a historic church on the picnic grounds provides a sheltered refuge. Rocky Mountain National Park also has miles of trails to explore, which makes it easy to get some post-meal exercise. There are several spots within the park that you can reserve for a wedding. However, this park is best for smaller groups, as most sites have a maximum capacity of 20 guests. If you're planning a picnic with a bigger crowd, Estes Park is the best option.

Sequoia National Park

Along with offering space for picnics, the park has a picturesque site for wedding ceremonies called the Wuksachi Lodge. The lodge features a private outdoor ceremony area and a banquet hall, which can also be reserved in the event that the bad weather strikes on the day of the wedding picnic. The banquet holds up to 80 guests.
